The day started early; we met at Evangel Church at 3:00 am before heading to the Birmingham International Airport; many thanks to John Kitts, Stephen Davis, and Jake Parker for driving us to the airport. Check-in at the airport went smoothly (an huge answer to prayer!) and we even had time for breakfast at Chick-Fil-A before our departure.....seems a little ironic that we would eat chicken before heading to Belize where the three main staples are chicken, beans, and rice.
Once we arrived in Belize City, we cleared immigration and customs without issue and were greeted by Polin Perez , Solany Romero, and Fernando Blanco, our Thirst Mission trip leaders. Augustine, our bus driver, picked us for a long ride north. We did make a late lunch stop at Come and Dine, before finishing the journey at the Mirador Hotel.
As for now, we are just hanging out, resting up for the welcoming service at the Nazarene Church in Altamira.
